On the Drawing Board

I can't reveal all the stuff I'm working on at the moment but I can tell you I'm doing a couple of bits for The Dandy Summer Special which will be out in, well, the summer I guess! That's one page on my drawing board, blurred out to avoid any spoilers (and to prevent rival publishers copying it :)).

Right, time to literally get back to the drawing board...

Awesome! Can you tell us if the special is all new content, reprints, or a bit of both?

The dandy annual was fantastic btw. My favourite strips were Jocks and Geordies, Corporal Clott and Keyhole Kate. Really impressed with the Dreadlock Holmes art, much better than the 2005--6 iteration. I Was a little disappointed the smasher wasn't in it, one of my all time fav dandy characters. The weakest strip (but still good) was probably Harry and his hippo. Overall I found it better than the Beano, which I still enjoyed tho.

Its 10 years this year the dandy closed for business. I hope DC thomson are aware of this and produce some awesome dandy content to mark this year. :D

As I understand it the special will be mostly reprint again with a small amount of new material but I'm not entirely sure. Glad you liked the annual. That will remain all-new at least.

using my advanced eye sight (using my glasses which i decided i had to wear all the time a couple of years back due to how crap my right eye is.. after a doctor's check, it've got a mole on the back of my eye but shouldn't be an issue), I see... you have drawn a cute girl holding a very oversized pencil taking up most of the page.. which makes me wonder.. how come Penny Crayon is now a Dandy character? ^_^ (yes, i know she isn't.. and many people don't know the character these days anyway..)

also, your dead line is coming close.

I can see how the blurring looks like what you think it is, but that's not what it is at all. Fascinating that you've seen that though, and so can I now you've mentioned it!

The job's finished and ready to go, so I'm ahead of deadline thankfully.

Art made me think of Owen Goal, because I can see a girl with a number on the back of her shirt (like on a football shirt, of course).

It's definitely football related. :)
