Last chance to bid!

My latest art auction ends soon (Sunday 26th July) so if you're interested in a Pathetic Sharks page from Viz (2008) or a Combat Colin page from Marvel UK's The Transformers (1989) here's your last opportunity. This is my original artwork drawn in black ink on Bristol Board for the comics back then. Not prints, not pages torn from comics, not copies, not facsimiles. (You'd be surprised what some chancers pretend is original art.)

I'm surprised that as it stands right now there have only been two bids on the Viz page, as many of you have been asking me to list Viz artwork. I haven't found any other complete pages so don't miss out on this.

The Combat Colin page is another rarity. It's very unlikely I'll be selling any more Combat Colin pages in the foreseeable future but I listed this one as there had been demands for it. Usually I prefer to hold onto my Combat Colin pages as I own the rights.

Remember, the auctions end very soon! All bids appreciated. Here's the link where you'll find close up photos of the artwork and will be able to place your bid:

COMBAT COLIN and PATHETIC SHARKS artwork up for sale!

I'm selling two pages of my original artwork this week. By popular demand I've found a PATHETIC SHARKS page from VIZ (2008) and a COMBAT COLIN page from TRANSFORMERS (1989).

Your bids are very much appreciated at the moment so I hope some of you out there will be interested. Both auctions end next Sunday, 26th July. Good luck!

COMIC SAMPLER published today!

I thought I'd do something new for the London Comic Con this weekend. Here's Lew Stringer's Comic Sampler, a slim 20 page selection of a few of my highlights from over my 40 year career. You may have seen the strips before but now they're in a variety package featuring Brickman, Combat Colin, Derek the Troll, Sgt.Shouty and a few other examples of my comics work.

Why is the cover monochrome? Mostly to keep the costs down for this one-off special, but also I wanted to go "back to basics" and do an entirely black and white comic like I used to many years ago. I've only had 100 printed. I'll do more if it sells out but it's likely to be a limited edition. Not available in shops or from any other seller, only from me.

I'll be bringing copies along to sell at the convention, but if you're not in London this weekend you can order it directly from my eBay listings at the following link and I'll post them off to you next week...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204678429935

For those of you who are going to the con, see you there!

MORE original comic art up for sale including a very early COMBAT COLIN page

I'm selling another batch of my original comic artwork and this listing includes the second episode of Combat Colin! I want to hold onto the first episode so this will be the earliest one I'm making available. It was published in Action Force No.6 back in 1987 and, yes, that's Loose Brayne (Brickman) making an unnamed guest appearance as the stall owner! (The story took place after he went walkabout at the end of the 1986 Brickman comic.)

You can see more detailed photos at this link...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204625625171?hash=item2fa4a34053:g:jrwAAOSw~y9lrWe1

I'm also selling an even earlier strip of mine. A page of Captain Wally that was done for Marvel UK's Spider-Man Comic way back in 1985. One of my first professional comic strips...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204625620606?hash=item2fa4a32e7e:g:v7oAAOSwN6plrWZY

Another vintage strip is this Pete and His Pimple page from Oink! No.22 (1987) drawn in black ink and grey wash...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204625614068?hash=item2fa4a314f4:g:PEUAAOSwLQJlrWQx

Finally, a more recent strip. The Daft Dimension original art from Doctor Who Magazine No.552 (2020) featuring a spoof of the first Doctor's farewell to his grand-daughter Susan...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204625616249?hash=item2fa4a31d79:g:QVkAAOSwsM5lrWVw

Bidding on these four items ends on Sunday 28th January. However, don't forget that there are five other pieces of my original art currently in an auction that ends this Thursday, 25th January. If you missed my post about those you'll find it at this link...

Good luck with your bids!

The horror of it all!

I did some sketches for backers of the Kickstarter for This Comic Is Haunted No.3 so I thought you might like to see them. They'd all requested various horror-themed drawings; specially commissioned zombie versions of Brickman, Combat Colin, and Sgt.Shouty, plus a Frankenstein Monster. Here are the results!

The original art will be winging its way to those backers this week!

If you didn't back the Kickstarter you can buy This Comic Is Haunted from this link (without the bonus sketches of course)...

https://the77comic.bigcartel.com/

If you'd like to commission me to do a drawing, (doesn't have to have a horror theme if you don't want it) please message me or email me at lew.stringer@BTopenworld.com

I should be able to fit two or three in before Christmas, depending on how simple or complex they are.

Original art at BUY IT NOW prices! Snap 'em up!

On my eBay listings this week I'd uploaded four pieces of original artwork. Two have sold very quickly and these two remain...

The original artwork for the cover of Yampy Tales No.1 (1995) featuring Combat Colin and The Brain in Portmeirion! (One to interest fans of The Prisoner perhaps?) "Yampy" is a Midlands term, meaning "crazy" or "daft" and way back when I published three issues of Yampy Tales featuring reprints of Combat Colin. The print run was very small so you may never have seen them. Anyway, the cover is up for sale if you want it! Here's the link...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204512183697?hash=item2f9de04591:g:g-EAAOSw7m9lNYH5

The other item is an early Tom Thug page from Oink! No.12 which also features a Satan the Cat mini-strip. I drew this artwork back in 1986...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204512091085?hash=item2f9ddedbcd:g:we0AAOSw-AplNWyS

As ever, your support means a lot. I've held onto my artwork for many years and it's time to let it go and, as I don't have any family to inherit it, I'd rather it goes to collectors who will appreciate it.
