1966 was a very good year. It gave us the Batman TV show, England won the World Cup, The Beatles released the timeless classic Eleanor Rigby, and Smash! comic made its debut!
The Kickstarter for the next set of Comic Scene's HISTORY OF COMICS partworks is live! If it reaches its target I'll be writing about the history of Odhams' Smash! comic for the 1966 volume. To find out more, and to make your pledge, visit this link...

Just been over to Kickstarter and backed this.
1966 was very much my comic year. It began with Space Jinx and Moon Madness and ended with the ever lovin' blue-eyed Thing battling the Silver Surfer. A lot of my lifelong interests were defined in the 18 months from spring '66 to summer '67.
Low point of the year was missing the end of Hulk's battle with Metal Master due to a family holiday and the World Cup Final. Everyone was watching the TV and forgot to pick up my comic that day. Six years later I finally read the conclusion in Mighty World of Marvel and (SPOILER!) Hulk won. Phew!
Those defining times can't be beaten. Same here, Tony. Every day was a discovery! Great times. Thanks for supporting the bookazine.
