Combat Christmas 1989

I've posted this a few years ago but in case you missed it, here it is again. The Christmas episode of Combat Colin that I did for The Transformers No.250 back in 1989! Even though it was 31 years ago I still remember drawing it. I even put a Dalek in there, not realising that I'd be drawing them these days for Doctor Who Magazine!

I'll sort out some other old Christmas strips of mine to post soon before the big day. (Or in this year's case, standard size day I guess.)

don't get it.. I know you have all the middle class people who spends hundreds of pounds and have huge houses to get a bunch of people together for a party on Christmas day, which... I really never see the point.. but that's not really get anything to do with Christmas.. even if you remove the religion side.. the Christmas parties are normally before Christmas, in the run up.. Nothing good on TV for years when it comes to Christmas either.. But I got enough great British comedies which have Christmas specials, Original special plays for the day etc, that I'm pretty set.. Only real thing I've done a bit different in this year's build up is have a slight problem getting some presents cause I haven't been able to think of anything.. also getting very fed up of all the people moaning how the area I live has gone from one of the least infected to one of the most in the England (which is really easy to see why as most people don't seam to give a damn) but.. people moan when there... erm.. I think they are called 'First world problems' annoy them.

Isn't Christmas one of these 'be thankful for what you got and be nice to others' day? so.. really can't see much change..

I think a lot of people are rightly upset this Christmas because they can't see all the family they'd want to, Ryan. That's what I was talking about when I referred to Christmas being smaller than usual. People will of course make the best of what they have but it's upsetting for them if grandparents can't see grandchildren for example.

It won't make any difference to me because I have no family, but I know friends who are feeling very sad about the situation, especially those in Tier 4, or Tier 3 such as my area. They understand that restrictions are necessary, but that doesn't make them feel any better.

fair enough. Atleast they understand they are necessary. Luckly, unlike the USA, we don't have a huge Anti-vaxxer group... though we still have some trying to hold pox parties...

Nice strip Lew it's always nice to see you drawing Marvel heroes and untapped area of your talent that. Anyway have a great Christmas and I hope 2021 is better for us all than 2020 was ( until yesterday I thought that would be a given, sadly that now may not be the case).

It's great to see your take on the Marvel characters. It reminded me if the cover of Fantastic Four Roast by Fred Hembeck from 1982.
