I've sent off my first two strips for the 2023 annuals, with lots more ahead to do over the coming weeks. I can't show anything properly for a long time yet but there's a glimpse of a couple of Biffo the Bear strips above.
I also have two other big commissions to draw over the coming days, then there'll be the next Sgt.Shouty to do for The77, and The Daft Dimension for Doctor Who Magazine, so it's suddenly a very busy time!
Such is the nature of freelancing. It's always a roller coaster but you just hope it'll never get stuck at the bottom. Being self-employed is always highly risky, and the effects of the pandemic really had a knock on effect, but you just hope for the best.
If I'm not blogging much over the next few weeks you'll know why. I'll either be chained to my drawing board or, if time allows, having an hours break in the sunshine. Stay safe, and please keep following my blog for more updates whenever I can post them.

He will indeed, which (I think) makes me the only artist to have drawn the Beano Buster as well as the one in Buster. :D
Hey do you know of any sites where you can pick up some dandy back issues from the 2010-12 era? I've looked on ebay, amazon etc, but there isn't any showing in results, except for the last but one issue and the 2011 royal souvenior special. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I'm afraid eBay is the only place I can think of. I suppose it'll be a while before those back issues turn up on eBay as people who bought them ten years ago may still be holding onto them at the moment.
Oh I see, thanks anyway, it looks like I'll have to keep tabs on the market for sellers. BTW, do you think there is any chance of a Dandy comic relaunch? I was thinking next year (or 2023 if you inc the online version) will be 10 years since it's last ever issue. Could be the perfect time for a relaunch no? I'd love to see a comeback, but given the current climate, who knows?

I shouldn't think there's any chance of The Dandy coming back as an ongoing comic. It's part of history now, along with thousands of other cancelled comics that'll never return. Thankfully we still have an all-new annual every year.
