I thought you might like to see another sneak peek at one of my four Dinah Mo stories I did for the book. Here are a couple of panels before they were lettered, as Dinah and her Mum encounter pollution in the woods! Just the sort of thing that will spur environmentally-conscious Dinah into action to find out the culprits!
As I've mentioned before these stories will be my final contributions to D.C. Thomson publications now I'm semi-retired and have scaled down my output. I've contributed to every Dandy Annual from the 2012 to 2025 editions (missed the 2026 one) and now the 2027 annual, so it's been a good run.

Thanks Peter, although I haven't been in the Beano for over three years so I doubt anyone misses me that much.
I'm sure there's more than a few of us who miss your input to the weekly comic.
I resumed reading the Beano just before the pandemic. It formed part of the weekly therapy and stimulation for my late wife when I was caring for her in her final years. She particularly enjoyed your take on Pup Parade and missed it when it stopped.
I would have thought your style would have been a good fit in 2000AD Regened while it was around. Maybe reviving an old character like Bonjo or Walter, in the style of your old Robo Capers stories. Rebellion missed a trick there.
I don't know how publishers gauge the relative draw of characters and strips in an anthology. For example, I've always bought 2000AD but my enjoyment waxes and wanes depending on the involvement of specific creators (at different times, Mills, Moore, Niemand and Abnett). I don't know how that appreciation translates to sales and suspect it can't because I've been a steady subscriber since the Millenium.
The arcane arts of publishing decisions constantly baffle me. I'll stick to something simpler like finance, while I can.
Thanks Tony. I'm afraid that after my contributions to the two Buster specials and the first Monster Fun special Rebellion lost interest (with no explanation) so that was the end of my work for them. Time was when editors would tell you why you were dropped, or at least indicate what they'd like changed but these days no such info is forthcoming. It's frustrating, depressing, and debilitating, and made me full of self doubt actually. Anyway, too late now as I no longer have the energy or the interest in working for mainstream comics.
I'm very sorry about the passing of your wife. I enjoyed doing Pup Parade and I'm pleased that she enjoyed reading it.
