Rubbish Robot Roughs

My new mini-strip, Rubbish Robots, starts in The Beano today for a six week run. I created the characters about a year ago, so I thought you might like to see my initial pencil sketches of the three robots. As you can see by comparing the roughs above with a finished panel (below), I tweaked the designs slightly for publication.

I hope you enjoy the strip. I'm really enjoying writing/drawing it. I have another new mini-strip starting in The Beano soon but I'll tell you about that another time.

Never Be Without A Beano! 36 full colour pages for £2, making it the cheapest comic in the shops!

The nephews (one aged 10 and the other 8) enjoyed the new Robot Strip - though thought it deserved a full page in this weeks Beano to introduce them.

I won't argue with that, Digi. :-) It'd be nice to have a full page strip in a The Beano again but nothing on the horizon yet.

None of the mini-strips are in this week's issue. It's a Halloween special so the content is slightly different. Rubbish Robots will be back next week.

Thanks Lew, I am so glad you brought Rubbish Robots back! They were my fav strip in the '70's!!!

Thanks but... the '70's? If you're comparing it to Robo-Capers that was in the mid 1980s. Unless there actually WAS a strip called Rubbish Robots in the 1970s that I'm unaware of? Ulp!

I hear Rubbish Robots was axed after just one week. Your biggest failure by far.

I don't have this week's issue in my hands yet but I thought RR would be in it. Rest assured though that The Beano does have all 6 episodes and no doubt the remaining 5 will be published soon. So, no, it's not a failure by any means.
