Malta Comic Con

I hate letting people down, especially those who have gone out of their way to help me. Unfortunately due to a persistent bug I'm sorry to say I won't be flying over to Malta in the morning for the Malta Comic Con this weekend.

I feel terrible letting down the organizers who have been so supportive of my work and promoting me online, and shouldering the finances of flight and hotel bookings. I also feel bad to let down any friends and readers who were hoping to see me there. It sounds like a great event and with temperatures still over 20 degrees C would have made a nice alternative to our winter climate.

Yesterday, Malta Today published an interview with me that was conducted last week. All rather pointless now, but you can read it by clicking here if you wish.

I've also fallen behind schedule due to this bug so must press on with work now. My apologies to all concerned regarding the Malta Comic Con and I hope you guys have a great weekend.

New event: Malta Comic Con

As mentioned on my Blimey! blog yesterday, I've been invited as one of the guests at the Malta Comic Con, in the city of Valetta, 29th / 30th November 2014. I feel very honoured and pleased to be added to the guest list, along with fellow UK comic creators Mike Collins, Yishan Li, Dave Taylor, Andrew Wildman and more, plus comic stars from Malta and other countries.

I've visited Malta twice before, many years ago on holiday, and enjoyed it very much so I'm looking forward to returning this year.

A brief history:

I've worked as a freelance professional humour comics artist and writer for over 40 years. I sold my first cartoon in 1983 and since then have created many characters such as TOM THUG, PETE AND HIS PIMPLE, COMBAT COLIN, BRICKMAN, ROBO-CAPERS, DEREK THE TROLL, TOUGH GUY AND SCRUFFY, SUBURBAN SATANISTS, SGT.SHOUTY and others.

My clients include IPC, Marvel Comics, Egmont, Panini, D.C. Thomson, Rebellion and many others, covering the comics field from originated characters to licensed properties, pre-school to adult on comics such as BUSTER, OINK!, BEANO, DANDY, TRANSFORMERS, SONIC THE COMIC, TOXIC, VIZ, CiTV TELLYTOTS, LEGO ADVENTURES, HERMAN HEDNING, SWEET FA, ACTION FORCE, SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN, RAMPAGE, LUCKY BAG COMIC, SWIFTSURE, WARLOCK, WHITE DWARF, ACES WEEKLY, THE DAREDEVILS, THE MIGHTY WORLD OF MARVEL, and many more.

My recent comics work includes:
