Yikes! Look who's back!

Oh no! It's that bloomin' Hitler! On the Moon in the year 2627 and disrupting the wedding of Copper Scarlet and The Error! It's all happening in the latest episode of Sgt. Shouty of the Moon Force, in The77 No.12, available to order now from their website at this link...

This latest issue includes all new content by various creators plus a choice of covers by Clint Langley or Hal Laren! (Both artists have strips inside the comic too.)

Covers by Clint Langley and Hal Laren.

While Sgt.Shouty is aimed at a teen audience, some of the other strips in The77 are definitely for adults only.

Cover by Mike Perkins.

Also from The77 Publications is Lawless No.1, featuring the strips produced for Lawless Comic Cons. Written by Steve Bull with contributions from a wide variety of artists including Mick McMahon, Steven Austin, Hunt Emerson, Mike Collins, Mike Perkins, Liam Sharp, myself and many more! All profits from this comic will go to Prostate Cancer UK. Order it from this link:

Good to see Shouty again. Never really liked Captain Hurricane but this distant relative inhabiting a classic sci-fi future has grown on me over the years and sits nicely alongside Brickman and Colin. I assume you retain the rights to the good sergeant so a collection somewhere down the line is not impossible?

I'd already backed this on Kickstarter so, having read your post at work at lunchtime, it was a pleasantly synchronistic surprise to return home and find the comic waiting for me.

I chose the Clint Langley version because I usually make a point of buying the main cover rather than variants. And anyway, this was Clint Langley so what's not to like? But the Hal Laren cover was tempting so I'd probably have double dipped if funds weren't limited.

I've supported the 77 since it launched back in the Covid era, but the infrequent schedule means I usually struggle to remember what's happened in the ongoing strips. So Shouty, Mister Meeker and the one-off Future Shock type stories are what stick in my memory.

I guess a reread of the 12 issues and two annuals is in order at some point. But I say that about lots of series and as I look around my office I see there's more comics and books accumulated than I probably have remaining years to read. Never thought I'd be deciding which comics to put on a bucket list. Still, that’s a problem 6-year-old me (sitting in hospital constantly rereading the same stories of Space Jinx, Brian’s Brain, and the Hulk) would have loved.

The Lawless book has a strong line-up of talent and is in aid of a very good cause, so I've clicked over and ordered a copy. Personally, I've avoided prostate cancer so far, but a few friends have had very bad experiences with it in recent years. It really sucks to get old!

Thanks for a nice detailed comment, Tony. This blog doesn't receive many comments these days so yours are appreciated.

Thanks also for supporting The77. Yes, a long break between issues isn't beneficial for serials. I even struggle to remember what happened in monthly comics unless they have a resumé of the story so far (which sadly isn't always the case). That's why I do Shouty as self contained episodes now.

There aren't quite enough Shouty pages for a collection yet (only about 16 I think) but it'll happen at some point hopefully.
