I had big plans for retiring from mainstream comics. I was going to publish more of my own comics, getting back to the roots of what I first enjoyed. After a few setbacks due to health and finances, my latest plan was to get Brickman No.2 out this month, followed by Combat Colin No.6 (the final issue) early next year, and Brickman No.3 (his last issue) in mid-2026. Plus a special or two.
Well, I'm afraid things aren't running smoothly these days. I should know by now not to announce any plans until I've actually got the comics ready to sell. I get more fatigued now (due to CLL as mentioned several times before) and have fallen behind with everything.
I really can't say when my next comics will be published as I still haven't made a start on scanning the pages or drawing the covers yet. No one is more annoyed about this than me, I assure you.
So... all I can say is I'll announce them when they're ready, health and finances permitting. I'm sorry I can't be more specific or upbeat about it but life isn't very upbeat these days.
Meanwhile, I need to focus on my strips for Doctor Who Magazine and This Comic Is Haunted at the moment. I'll update when I have a definite schedule on my comics.
My art auctions will continue and you'll find the listings at this link:

hope you will get more strength for doing the comic strip etc...
Sorry to hear that Lew! I wish I had an easy answer for you!
Sadly “life” is often a b1tch. We’re all getting older (duh… who’d have thunk it?) and various bodily bits start to wear out or go wrong. I hope things improve for you Lew, but the reality is often that the best we can hope for is that things don’t get worse. Prayers, fingers crossed etc.
Cheers,
Geoff
Thanks but as I've said before when you've mentioned this, it's nothing to do with old age. Cancer can affect people of any age.
Thanks quamar. Just doing what I can. There's no cure for CLL but if I can get the comics concluded that'll be an achievement at least.
Have you seen a GP about it Lew? Theres a bad flu going around.
....!
🤦♂️
I know it’s easier said than done to not let it frustrate and annoy you, but we’ll happily wait until you’re feeling up to finishing the comics, Lew. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say we wish you well and your health is far more important. Take it easy.
Just take your time
Thanks folks. It is frustrating, especially as I wanted to use my new free time to focus on things I enjoy. I used to like taking long walks too but get very tired now after a mile or so. In the end it'll just come down to quality of life and what purpose there is.
I grunt and creak just getting up from the sofa now Lew so old age comes to us all. No point in going on about it, we need to buck ourselves up and be positive. Sign up for some aerobic classes to limber up, it helped me.
This is just exhausting. It's not "old age" or just creaky joints! Please look up Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia!
Take care Lew, your health comes first
Sorry but I think it's disgusting you keep talking about c*ncer on a site intended for children. I came here to be entertained not to listen to your sob stories but that's all we get nowadays. People are blocking you on Facebook and I can see why. Goodbye.
This isn't a "site" intended for children. As for the rest of your comments, I guess there's nothing else I can say then.
