My thanks to all of you who wished me well in my semi-retirement. The messages on social media were much appreciated. I just want to clarify something though; several people thought I was retiring from comics altogether and walking away from my career. Not so! I'm simply scaling back to focus on publishing my own comics (such as Combat Colin). I'll also be continuing with The Daft Dimension every month in Doctor Who Magazine.
I suppose it was my fault for writing such a long post the other day for people to wade through.
So in short: I'm still self-employed, I'm still paying my taxes, but now I'm 66 and entitled to my State Pension it means I won't have the stress of deadlines all the time so I can work when I feel like it.

Lew, we only look at the pictures... You can't expect us to read aktual werds.
The only person who retired and changed his mind the very next day. See you in the Beano as usual then.
You really have completely misread what I posted haven't you JH?
I said from the start that I'm semi-retiring to focus on my own comics. You won't see me in the Beano again.
You can't have read a Beano recently. Been a while since Lew had anything in there, though he does contribute to the Dandy Annual.
Lrw although you gsve up Ur job and conventions due 2 ill health I hope we will get the last Comvstcolin were owed . Maybe somebody else can drew it?
Anon, no one is exactly "owed" the next Combat Colin because I haven't accepted orders in advance. When it's printed, I'll put it on my KoFi shop for people to buy. No, no one else will be drawing it. If you'd read the previous ones you'd have known it reprints my stories from the 1980s/90s.
BTW again, Anon, please stop saying I gave up my job and conventions. I'm still working, and still available for conventions (depending on circumstances). Please read the post properly before replying.
