My Beano sub arrived and there's no Ellis strip in there! Should there have been? We're very displeased at our house.
I'm very sorry to say that Ellis's Great Escapes has been dropped for now. I was led to believe it would continue into the new year but then their plans changed apparently. They have a few Ellis strips in stock and I hear they'll be used as fillers at some point in the future but at the moment the spotlight is on newer artists and using puzzle pages to entertain children during lockdown so I regret to say I'm no longer in the Beano in any regular capacity.
I would suggest that if anyone wants to see me contributing again, to politely write to the Beano and let them know. Thanks.
They must've somehow known what was going to happen. The country going back on lockdown (with school closed again) was only declared yesterday, which, of course, is after that issue and I guess next week's as well went to press.
It's a shame you've lost work because of this, hopefully they'll use you again when the situation starts improving.
They've increased the puzzle pages for a while now James. As for lockdown, I think we all knew it was coming. Frankly it should have happened weeks ago as soon as scientists suggested it.
