STIKKUMS!

If any of you have young children or nieces and nephews, the Stikkums app that I did the artwork for might be ideal. There's now a "lite" version that's completely free, (then you pay 99p for each add-on pack) or a "premium" version (only £2.99) that comes with all the add-ons. In basic terms it's like a digital version of the Letraset Action Transfers, but with the advantage that you can move the characters around, resize them, flip them, colour them, and create as many scenes as you like.

New Stikkums for Christmas!

I'm a bit late promoting this but as it's still only Boxing Day, here's news of a seasonal addition to the Stikkums app I do the artwork for. 

The latest digital Stikkums pack has a Christmas theme, with two Santas, a snowman, a snowwoman, three elves, four kids, a reindeer, two new backgrounds and more! As with the previous Stikkums packs you download the pack and position the characters onto the backgrounds. 

You can use characters multiple times, reposition them as you like, flip, resize, rotate, recolour them, and some even have blank faces you can upload your own photo into. You can also use them to interact with characters in previous packs of course, and vice versa.

Stikkums update!

There's a new pack of digital 'stickers' available for the Stikkums app that I provided the artwork for. The new set of Stikkums is just 79p and this time has the theme of Family and Pets. 

Stikkums is a behavioural reward app for children but it's also fun for any age. Imagine the old rub-down-transfers or felt pictures but done on screen, with characters that you can reposition, resize, recolour, and remove or repeat indefinitely. The app is free to download and comes with a starter pack of Knights themed Stikkums plus two backgrounds. You can then choose to buy additional packs at just 79p each. So far the other packs are Monsters, Outer Space, and the new Family and Pets one. Each pack comes with two backgrounds, and Stikkums can be used on any background, so you could have Monsters in the Family living room if you wished, or Grandad in Outer Space. There's also a new addition of a Sound Effects pack so you can add comic sfx to your scenes.

The download is free, and you get one Stikkums 'pack' of 20 digital stickers free, with the other sets costing just 69p per pack.

I did all the artwork for this app and have been drawing more this week for a future pack to be released soon. Stikkums is go!

Stikkums, the new app that I told you about a few posts ago, is now approved by Apple and available to download for the iPad. As I mentioned before, the idea is Dan Whitehead's and I did all of the artwork, which was a very enjoyable job indeed. 

Stikkums is a behavioral reward app for kids, whereby parents set their children targets, to be rewarded with points they can use to 'buy' various character 'stickers'. There are 20 characters and two backgrounds per pack, that kids (or adults if you want a dabble) can use in unlimited scenarios. And yes, once you've unlocked a character you can use the same one if you wish multiple times. Build your own army! 

As it's all digital, the characters can be moved around the backgrounds at any time, flipped, rotated, resized, even coloured if you prefer a different colour scheme. You get the Knights pack free with the download, and other packs (Space and Monsters so far) to purchase at just 69p a pack.

Introducing... STIKKUMS!

Remember the top secret non-comics job I said I was working on? This is it. Stikkums is a new app that I did all the artwork for. Tons of individual character drawings to various themes (Knights, Monsters, and Space) and a set of appropriate backgrounds. 

Basically it's a 'reward app' for children. Parents set the goals (brush hair, eat meal, clean teeth, etc) and when they complete each task the kids are rewarded with points on the app which they can exchange for digital stickers. These character stickers (Stikkums) can then be placed on the backgrounds, similar to the Action Transfers of the 1970s. The advantage these digital stickers have over the old rub-down transfers is that they can be moved around, replaced, resized, flipped, and even coloured (if want a change from my original colours). Some Stikkums characters have blank face areas so kids can drop in photos of themselves. The characters aren't limited to their own scenarios, and you can have the Knights meeting Monsters in a spaceship background if you like, or a spaceman fighting a dragon in a castle for example. There are numerous possibilities that hopefully will keep kids entertained for hours. 

The Stikkums app is the brainchild of Dan Whitehead, who commissioned me to provide 20 characters per 'pack'. A really enjoyable gig, and more to come hopefully.
