One of my oldest characters, Derek the Troll is set to return again in an all new story this December! You'll find him in the pages of GOOF, which compiles strips from the UK indie comic masterminded by Marc Jackson only this time it'll be in one bumper edition with added new material and published by Portland based Floating World. Yes, GOOF is going stateside to reach a larger audience! (But it'll be available from UK comic shops too, Goof fans!)

This bumper edition of GOOF includes the three one-off pages I did for Goof issues 1 to 3; School of the Future, Deja Vu Man, and It's That Dracula! When Marc Jackson asked me to create another page for this new edition I was contemplating another one-off strip, but then I thought, well, I own Derek the Troll, so why not bring him back again in a brand new story?
Derek the Troll was a character I created over 40 years ago for Warlock magazine, which then merged into White Dwarf magazine. He's also appeared in Jonathan Green's book You Are The Hero in 2014, then a compilation of strips in my self published Derek the Troll special in 2016 , the short-lived digital version of Goof in 2018, and in the humour comic Lolz No.1 in 2024. Like the troll he is, Derek wanders from place to place, and his latest location will be the GOOF bumper edition this December!
