Combat Delay

I should have known it'd be a mistake to announce when Combat Colin No.5 would be available while it was still at the printers. I've just been informed that it won't be shipping until Monday now, which means I won't receive the package until Tuesday (17th Sept) at the earliest.

Anyway, just thought I'd keep you in the loop as some of you have been waiting for so long. This is another reason why I never take pre-orders!

Keep your eyes on this blog and my social media posts and I'll announce when copies of Combat Colin No.5 are available to order as soon as I receive them!

Coming soon (again)!

Those of you who missed out on Combat Colin No.5 will be pleased to hear I've just sent the pages to the printers for a second printing. It should be ready to order next week. I'll post an update here of course when the copies arrive from the printers.

I only did a small print run (50) of issue 5 to get it out quickly for the London Comic Festival in July and it sold out within a few days. This time the print run is larger so hopefully you won't miss out again.

Keep an eye on this blog for future updates!

Are you keeping a Dandy handy?

Just a reminder that The Dandy Annual 2025 is on sale now and, if you're quick, The Dandy Summer Special 2024 is also still on the shelves.

Both contain stories of the all-new Dinah Mo, written and drawn by me. Hope you enjoy them!

45 Year Flashback: Comicon '79

On this day in 1979 (September 1st), I attended my first comics convention, Comicon '79 at the NEC in Birmingham. I was only doing fanzines back then and didn't know anyone who worked in comics but the first comics pro I ever had a conversation with was Jim Steranko. He gave me encouragement and signed a copy of The Illustrated Harlan Ellison that I'd just bought, which Steranko had contributed to.

That weekend still sticks in my mind and I posted about it on this blog five years ago. Rather than repeat that post, here's the link where you'll find it:

Bitten by the convention bug I'd attend them every year from then on, and as a guest from 1984 onwards. I've met so many valued friends over the past 45 years and the comics community means a great deal to me. I'm not sure when I'll be at another event depending on health and finances but I hope it's not too long.

Meanwhile here's just a few of the fantastic talented comics creators from over the years that I'm proud to call my friends...
