Here's a preview of my final Hygiene High strip for D.C. Thomson's Epic magazine. The publication ends this week with issue No.157.
Hygiene High, about a school for stinky kids, has been running since Epic No.127, two years ago. It's written by Niall Murray and drawn by me. I can't say I'll really miss the "gross humour" aspect as I'd been doing that sort of stuff for Epic and Toxic for years, but I hope to find more regular work to replace the material I've lost.
Epic started out as BeanoMax in 2007, and was later retitled Dennis and Gnasher Magazine, then Dennis and Gnasher's Epic Magazine, and finally Epic. Twelve years is a pretty respectable run for a magazine these days. As far as I know there are no plans to replace it with a new comic.
Those mucky kids of Hygiene High are up to their dirty tricks again in D.C. Thomson's Epic magazine No.155. Script by Niall Murray and artwork by me, it'll be in newsagents and supermarkets from Wednesday 9th January!
Here's a little preview of the next Hygiene High strip. Written by Niall Murray and drawn by me, it'll appear in Epic No.148, on sale Wednesday 11th July, published by D.C. Thomson. The two page strip is just part of the 48 page magazine, which comes bagged with toys and other gifts for £4.99.
I've just received my complimentary copy of Epic No.146 so here's a quick preview of the strip I drew for it. Hygiene High, written by Niall Murray with art by me, is about a classroom of stinky schoolkids, - and this month they bring their stinky pets to school. Chaos ensues as always and you can see the full story when the issue hits the shops on Wednesday 16th May.
It's bagged with a bunch of gifts and here's the package to look out for in your local newsagents and supermarkets...
There's a new issue of D.C. Thomson's Epic magazine out on Wednesday, and it'll contain another Hygiene High two-pager written by Niall Murray and drawn by me. This time, the stinky kids cause chaos on a train! See the results in Epic No.144, on sale 28th March.
As a bonus, I thought you might like to see the comparison between my original black and white artwork and the published version after I'd coloured it and cleaned up any mistakes in Photoshop...
The Christmas issue of D.C. Thomson's Epic magazine monthly is out today, and it includes another two page Hygiene High strip by me, written by Niall Murray. It's Christmas present time in the classroom with the world's stinkiest schoolkids!
Epic No.140, on sale now. £4.50
I have a couple of things coming out this week. On Wednesday 15th November, there's Epic No.139 from D.C. Thomson, featuring a new two page Hygiene High strip I drew, written by Niall Murray. This time, the mucky kids play a football game against their posh counterparts. Kind of a Swots and Blots thing for today's readers.
On Thursday, 16th December, Doctor Who Magazine No.519 will be in the shops, featuring The Daft Dimension by me. This issue, I spotlight the Time Lords.
Don't forget that Toxic No.297, which came out last week, is still available too, featuring a new two-page Team Toxic story by me.
All three publications are available from newsagents and supermarkets across the UK.
The mucky kids of Hygiene High go on a school trip to an Aquarium this month in Epic No.137. What chaos do they cause there? Find out in the latest story, written by Niall Murray and drawn by me! Epic is on sale in newsagents and supermarkets now!
Those stinky, obnoxious kids of Hygiene High visit the library this week in Epic No.136. What chaos will they cause? Find out when the issue goes on sale on Wednesday 30th August! Script by Niall Murray, artwork by me.
There's a new issue of Epic out on Wednesday 19th July, and here's a quick preview of a couple of strips I have inside. Those mucky kids from Hygiene High are up to their tricks again, this time in the science lab. What could possibly go wrong?
Then there's Eric Fail, deciding to make a smoothie. What happens next? Buy Epic No.134 on Wednesday and find out!
Scripts by Niall Murray, artwork by me, published by D.C. Thomson.
The stinkiest school kids in comics, the class of Hygiene High, are on the school bus in the latest strip in Epic No.133. Script by Niall Murray, art by me. See what mayhem they cause when the issue goes on sale this Wednesday, 21st June. Available from WH Smith, supermarkets, and newsagents. Bagged with a bunch of gifts.
The Bin Twins are two of the stinkiest, filthiest characters of Hygiene High, one of the strips I draw for D.C. Thomson's Epic every month. Imagine the Swots and Blots without the Swots and you'll get an idea of what the series is like. Written by Niall Murray and drawn by me, the latest episode of Hygiene High can be seen in Epic No.132, on sale this coming Wednesday, 24th May!
The latest issue of D.C. Thomson's Epic magazine is out today so here's a quick preview of some of the strips I drew for it. Written by Niall Murray and illustrated by me, Hygiene High try their hand at acting. As you might guess, their acting stinks, as do they!
There's also three mini-strips written by Niall Murray and drawn by me, including a new one, Bin Man!
Don't miss Epic No.130, out now!
My first new strip for 2017 starts next week in Epic magazine, published by D.C. Thomson. Hygiene High features the grottiest, grimiest kids since the days of The Swots and the Blots, and they're enrolled into a school that aims to smarten them up. It's a daunting task for their head teacher Auntie Bacteria!
Written by Niall Murray and drawn by me, Hygiene High is a two page strip featuring six stinky kids; Pee-Yew Jimmy, Bean Jean, Snotty Scotty, the Bin Twins, and Pooey Louis. The sort of gross humour about farts and bogeys that adults sometimes disapprove of but kids enjoy, and Epic is aimed at kids so hopefully it'll go down well. (I really like the flies the designers have added to the page borders!)
The magazine also includes a page of mini-strips drawn by me; Eric Fail, Terrible Movies, and Zombie Sports...
...and there's also another chapter of Overreaction Man by Alex Collier and Steve Bright.
That's all in Epic No.127, on sale from newsagents and supermarkets from Wednesday 11th January!
