Foolish Times

A few years ago, when I was doing my Blimey! blog, I sometimes played a prank on April Fool's Day with a few spoof comics I'd mocked up. These days, with the world the way it is, I just can't be bothered, but I thought you might like to see the ones I did in times past. They fooled a few, most saw through them, and a couple of people took umbrage, but on the whole I hope they were enjoyed.

Firstly, in 2008, there was the story about long-forgotten 1972 comic Apollo...

Then I waited a few years so people wouldn't expect it, and sprung ediible comic Om-Nom-Nom onto the world in 2012...

Then in 2014, it was the story of the sleazy history of On The Edge magazine...

In 2017, the revealtion of the strange reversed comics of the 1960s...

...and finally in 2019 (because even I was getting irritated by April Fools by this stage) the launch of The Blank...

That final one was actually a "real" comic; blank pages except for a logo. Yes, I put together a few. I think one person actually bought it. In recent times, the April Fool was on me because someone did a slicker version (called Blank Comic Book) and sold it on Amazon. Although their version isn't even blank, as it features ruled panel borders and special effects, which kind of misses the point!

Anyway, this is a rather grim April 1st as all the bills are going up, plus the added worries about the pandemic and war, but I hope you have a good day regardless.
