It’s always good to see the process. How an artist finds the right lines. Do you do a rough and then trace a refined image onto an illustration board? I took my daughter to a workshop by a children’s illustrator who worked liked that. Fascinating to watch.
No, I ink over the blue penciled rough. I know the pencils look a mess to others but I know which lines are the ones I want to follow. I have used a Lightbox occasionally, where I would trace the pencils, but I prefer to ink the pencils as it feels more organic.
